If you want to add your child after the 30-day period

supervisor about scheduling around the birth or adoption of your child.

Your supervisor and co-workers may not be prepared for
your absence.

You may be eligible for a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
or other leave of absence. Discuss with your immediate supervisor as soon as possible.

If you don’t, you may not be eligible later. FMLA must be
completed within the first 12 months of the child’s arrival.

Consider enrolling in or increasing your election for the
Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts within 30 days of the birth
or adoption.

If you do not complete within 30 days of the change in
family status, you will not be allowed to make changes until the next annual
open enrollment period.

insurance level. Call Human Resources to get a statement of health form.

You existing coverage will remain in place. However, you
may enroll or increase your coverage if you provide a statement of health.
