on navigation and front page.
Vacation
Employees are entitled to two weeks (10) days vacation during each year
of active service. Five (5) days of vacation may be taken within the
first six months of employment. the second week of vacation is earned
after an additional six months. Employees can receive approval from
their manager to take all their vacation before the end of their first
year anniversary. However, if they leave the Company before the
completion of their first year, unearned vacation days will be deducted
from their final pay. Vacation times does not accumulate from year to
year. However, if, at the request of the Company, an employee is unable
to take any portion of their earned vacation, they may roll a maximum of
five (5) days over into the next year. Vacation will not be paid in
lieu of time off.
Upon termination of employment or status change from full-time to
part-time, employees will be paid for any earned vacation they have not
taken.
Personal Days
Employees are entitled to five (5) personal days during their first year
of employment. Every year thereafter they will earn one (1) additional
personal day until they reach a maximum of ten (10) personal days after
five years.
Upon termination of employment or status change from full-time to
part-time, employees will not be paid for personal days they have not
taken. Also upon termination, any personal days taken will be
considered as vacation, unless all vacation has previously been used.
Sick Leave
Sick leave is a form of insurance that is accumulated in order to
provide a cushion for incapacitation due to illness. It should be used
only when actually required to recover from illness or off-the-job
injury. Time off for medical and dental appointments will be treated as
sick leave. Temporary and part-time employees will not be eligible for
sick leave benefits.
The Company offers five (5) paid sick days to regular full-time
employees. Sick days do not carry over to the following year if they
are unused. If sick leave is exhausted, employees must take their
Personal Days until the Short Term Disability insurance is activated
after fifteen (15) days of continuous absence.
If you are absent due to illness for three (3) consecutive days or more,
you may be required to provide medical evidence of your illness and/or
medical certification of your ability to return to work. This evidence
must be in a form satisfactory to the Company and is required before
sick pay will be given. For absences less than three (3) days, medical
certification may also be required. If there is reason to believe that
sick leave has been misused, sick pay may not be awarded.
Your sick time will be "charged" for any portion of the day used for
medical or dental appointments. In addition, your sick time will be
"charged" for arriving to work late or leaving work early due to
illness. When possible, please schedule medical and/or dental
appointments at the beginning and/or end of the workday.
Unused sick time is not paid upon termination and is not reinstated upon
re-employment.
